    Description

Early Chain drive American LaFrance 24” tire rims. Off my 1919 ALF with metal Felloes. These rims will fit American LaFrance 24” wheels from late teen thru the late twenties (maybe later) if the wheels have metal felloes. Will not fit any of the ALF wheels with wooden felloes.
Have 6 rims, 2 are excellent, two are very good, 1 is good, and one is horrible, but fixable. But if you need 4 to replace your rusted out and unsafe rims this is your opportunity.
Before I decided to go a different direction with the restoration of my 1919 and 1922, I desperately tried to find two more rims and none were to be found. Called every tire and rim maker in this country and abroad and no one makes, or will make a Firestone type lock ring demountable rim. For many reasons I was told. The main reason being liability concerns about being sued. Coker tire had agreed to make my a set of 24” rims at a cost of 00,00 a piece for just the rim, but decided it was not worth it for liability reasons. I was willing to pay their price, but could not get them to budge. However, I believe their k per rim price to be accurate considering no one has any of these rims anymore.
I just paid k for rims on another one of my projects so It’s an expensive hobby and that’s the way it is. If you don’t like my price, that’s fine, don’t buy them and good luck finding a set.
If interested please contact me and I will provide more photos on request.
I also have the 24” wood spoke wheels off my 1919 for sale (inquire) and a set of 20” cut down wood spoke wheels for sale. Both sets will not come with the hubs.
The two wood wheels pictured in the photos are for measurement and style of wheel that will work with these rims reasons only!! The wood wheels are NOT part of this listing.
One of the wheels is a 24” off my 1919
And the other is a cut down 20” wheel off my 1922. Both sets will be for sale at some point. Neither set comes with hubs
Reasonable offers accepted. I can’t figure out how to add “make offer” as EBay changed stuff on me, but feel free to make a reasonably offer. Reasonable means close to the asking price.
I will be willing to ship these, but considering the price would feel better about it if they are seen in person. But will ship, but then they are yours, no returns.
