  • Condition: decent condition for its age. Can be used for it's intended purpose but more likely used as a display item. Very cool looking. No cracks in the glass but there is some chipping at the rim where the glass has been disassembled for years and years. Rubber gasket is hard but still holds

    Description

    15L vintage Pyrex bioreactor system. The glass is old and about as clear as you'd expect for the period - a little wavy. Was purchased to be retrofit into an experimental bioreactor but we wound up just building the thing from scratch. Very cool piece of old tech - designed to be autoclaved at 1 piece ensuring sterility. Has a rushton-type turbine and a gas sparge wand. Included is very modern MT pH probe that may or may not work. Useful as a prop or personally I'd turn it into a fish tank. Half tempted to, but I don't have the room. Even if you just used the glass bell section it's a very cool piece.
